Its a tough call. This is obviously an extreme example of what can happen. I just worry about the other ticking time bombs out there that could potentially blow in these kind of situations.

I’m glad that you have arrived at the conclusion that shooting a person in this state is not the answer. Of course Police officers fear for their safety but too often Police shoot and only later mull over the situation and it’s ramifications. that’s the shame of it.

Thanks Julie. It seems like the easy way out for people to just dismiss his obviously troubling conduct without considering the implications of what this story represents. A pill for every ill mentality is too pervasive in modern medicine. People are seldom cured of anything, but are treated with very little ongoing care and oversight necessary when treatments include powerful narcotics.

How many people would be quick to say, “Lock his ars up!” without considering the underlying factors.
